HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.152385 short, live 1.1531, -17.44 USD, -0.46R, seven hours old. No invalidation fired. The binding one — flatten on an hourly close above the 1d SMA200 1.153972 — did not trigger: the last two completed hours both closed 1.153136, and the highest hourly high since entry is 1.153403, 6 pips under that line. Price stays below all four levels lost at entry: 1h SMA20 1.153703, 1h SMA50 1.154101, 1d SMA200 1.153972, 1d SMA50 1.154161. Stop 1.15420 untouched, 11 pips / 1.55x the 7.1-pip 1h ATR away. Time stop (1.15150 by the 14:00Z post-PPI slot) is 13 hours out. Drivers: 10Y 4.682, +0.47% on the session and above its 1h SMA50 4.660, not under 4.640; cable 1.3498, still capped by the 1.35300 previous-week high. USDJPY half-turned — 159.313, -0.0138% on 24h, technically negative — but I wrote that as conjunctive with cable reclaiming 1.35300, which has not happened, so it does not bind; 1.4bp of yen softness with USDJPY above every average is noise, not the dollar leg breaking. This is the flattest slot yet: two closes at 1.153136 are the joint-highest since I sold, spot is 7 pips above entry, unrealized widened -15.34 to -17.44 over three reviews, 1h RSI unwound 33.9 to 44.0, and a stop 2.56 ATR away at entry is now 1.55. Seven hours without travel puts the break on probation, and drift is not confirmation. What keeps me short is that no average has been reclaimed on a closing basis — the whole retracement happened beneath the broken cluster. Arithmetic: 38.12 USD at risk, 0.038% of capital, against ~44 USD to the 1.15040 target above the 1.15035 previous-week low, stop binding continuously, 11.5 hours to the PPI print this was built for. Stop unchanged — tightening toward 1.1537 puts it inside 0.9x ATR and beneath the 1h cluster; widening at -0.46R is unjustifiable. Binding next slot: hourly close above 1.153972 and I flatten; 10Y under 4.640; USDJPY negative with cable above 1.35300; or 1.15150 untraded by 14:00Z.
HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.152385 short, live 1.1531, -17.44 USD, -0.46R, six hours old. No invalidation fired. The binding one — flatten on an hourly close above the 1d SMA200 — did not trigger: the last two completed hours closed 1.153004 and 1.153137 against a 1d SMA200 of 1.153972 and 1d SMA50 of 1.154161, and no hourly high since entry has reached either (best 1.153270 at 21:00Z). Price stays under all four levels lost at entry, including 1h SMA20 1.153743 and 1h SMA50 1.154133. Stop 1.15420 untouched, 9 pips / 1.5x the 7.3-pip 1h ATR away. Time stop (14:00Z today, post-PPI) not due. Driver lines — 10Y under 4.640, USDJPY negative on the day, cable above 1.35300 — none met: 10Y 4.682 (+0.47% session), USDJPY 159.32 (+0.037% 24h, above every reference), cable 1.3498 still capped by its 1.35300 previous-week high. Plainly this is the weakest slot yet and I won't dress it up: 1.153137 is the highest close since I sold, six straight hours of higher lows off 1.152339, unrealized widening -15.34 to -17.44, and a stop that was 2.48 ATR away now 1.5 ATR away. A break with no follow-through in six hours is on probation. What keeps me short is that no average has been reclaimed and 1h RSI 44.0 / 1d RSI 42.7 is an oversold reading unwinding sideways, not reversing. Closing banks 0.017% of capital twelve hours before the catalyst the trade was built for (Core PPI 0.3% vs 0.2%, headline 0.2% vs -0.3%, dollar-supportive if delivered). Holding risks 38.12 USD, 0.038% of capital, against ~44 USD to the 1.15040 target above the 1.15035 previous-week low, with a continuously binding stop since FX doesn't gap on a session close. Stop unchanged: tightening toward 1.1537 puts it inside 0.8x ATR and beneath the 1h average cluster; widening at -0.46R is unjustifiable. Binding next slot: hourly close above 1.153972 and I flatten regardless of stop; likewise 10Y under 4.640, or USDJPY negative with cable above 1.35300; and if 1.15150 hasn't traded by the 14:00Z slot post-PPI, I close the stalled break.
HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.152385 short, live 1.1530, -15.34 USD, -0.40R, five hours old. No invalidation fired. The binding one — flatten on an hourly close above 1.15370 (1d SMA200) — did not trigger: the last two completed hours closed 1.152871 and 1.152605, and no hourly high since entry has touched that line (best 1.153270). Price stays under all four levels lost at entry: 1h SMA20 1.153849, 1h SMA50 1.154199, 1d SMA200 1.153699, 1d SMA50 1.154907. Stop 1.15420 untouched, 12 pips / 1.48x the 8.1-pip 1h ATR away. Time stop (14:00Z tomorrow, post-PPI) not due. Driver-reversal lines were 10Y under 4.640, USDJPY negative on the day, cable above 1.35300: none met — 10Y 4.682, +0.47% on the session and above its 1h SMA50 4.660; USDJPY 159.374, +0.10% on 24h, above every reference; cable 1.3496, still capped by the 1.35300 previous-week high it failed at 1.35406. Plainly, five hours produced no follow-through and the drift is against me: spot sits above the last completed hourly close, unrealized went -6.94 to -15.34, 1h RSI unwound 33.9 to 37.77. No average has been reclaimed, so this is consolidation below the broken levels in the week's thinnest hours — my base case at entry — but it is not confirmation either and I will not call it one. Arithmetic beats both alternatives: closing banks 0.015% of capital thirteen hours before the catalyst the trade was built for, on Asia noise; holding risks 38.12 USD against roughly 44 USD to the 1.15040 target above the 1.15035 previous-week low, with a continuously binding stop, into a dollar-supportive consensus (Core PPI 0.3% vs 0.2%, headline 0.2% vs -0.3%). Stop unchanged: tightening inside 1.1534 puts it under one ATR and beneath the 1h average cluster; widening at -0.40R is unjustifiable. Binding next slot: hourly close above 1.15370 and I flatten regardless of stop; likewise 10Y under 4.640, or USDJPY negative on the day with cable above 1.35300.
HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.152385 short, live 1.1526, -6.94 USD, -0.18R, four hours old. Every named invalidation checked; none fired. The binding one — flatten on an hourly close above 1.15370 (1d SMA200) — did not trigger: the 21:00Z hour closed 1.152605, 11 pips below that line, its 1.153270 high never reaching it. Price stays under all four levels lost at entry: 1h SMA20 1.153829, 1h SMA50 1.154191, 1d SMA200 1.153699, 1d SMA50 1.154907. Stop 1.15420 untouched, 16 pips / 1.98x the 8.1-pip 1h ATR away. Time stop (14:00Z tomorrow, post-PPI) not due. Driver-reversal lines were 10Y under 4.640, USDJPY negative on the day, cable above 1.35300: none met — 10Y 4.682, +0.47% on the session and above its 1h SMA50 4.660; USDJPY 159.394, +0.08% on 24h and above every reference; cable 1.3496, still capped by the 1.35300 previous-week high it failed at 1.35406. Plainly, four hours produced nothing: closes 1.152339, 1.152605, 1.152871, 1.152605 on ranges of 6.7, 5.3, 4.0 and 8.0 pips against an 8.1-pip ATR, 1h RSI unwinding 33.9 to 38.0. That is consolidation, not follow-through, and I will not call it confirmation. Honestly: the 20:00Z bar poked 1.152871 and the 21:00Z bar 1.153270, so highs are creeping toward the 1d SMA200 and the break is being probed. No close has reclaimed it, which is the line I wrote and will act on. I am not closing a 0.038%-of-capital position at -0.18R fifteen hours before the catalyst it was built for on drift in illiquid Asia hours. Arithmetic supports patience: 38.12 USD risk against roughly 44 USD to the 1.15040 target above the 1.15035 previous-week low. Stop unchanged: tightening inside 1.1534 puts it under one ATR and beneath the 1h average cluster; widening at -0.18R is unjustifiable. Binding next slot: hourly close above 1.15370 and I flatten; likewise 10Y under 4.640, or USDJPY negative on the day with cable above 1.35300.
HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.152385 short, live 1.1529, -13.24 USD, -0.35R, three hours old. Every named invalidation checked; none fired. The binding one — flatten on an hourly close above 1.15370 (1d SMA200) — did not trigger: the 20:00Z hour closed 1.152871, 8 pips below it, and that close was its own high, so nothing traded above 1.1529 all hour. Price remains under all four levels lost at entry: 1h SMA20 1.153909, 1h SMA50 1.154228, 1d SMA200 1.153699, 1d SMA50 1.154907. Stop 1.15420 untouched, 13.1 pips / 1.61x the 8.1-pip 1h ATR away. Time stop (14:00Z tomorrow, post-PPI) not due. Driver-reversal lines were 10Y under 4.640, USDJPY negative on the day, cable above 1.35300: none met — 10Y 4.682 and +0.47% on the session, USDJPY 159.392 and +0.09% on 24h above every reference, cable 1.3496 still capped by the 1.35300 previous-week high it failed at 1.35406. Plainly, the tape has gone against me three straight hourly closes: 1.152339, 1.152605, 1.152871, with 1h RSI unwinding 33.89 to 39.96. That is the extended-leg retracement I flagged as the base case at entry, and it is drift in illiquid Asia hours, not a reclaim — no average recovered and the highs still capped 4 pips under the 1d SMA200. I will not dress three higher closes up as confirmation, nor abandon a 0.038%-of-capital position nine hours before the catalyst it was built for because it is 0.35R offside. Arithmetic supports patience: 38.12 USD remaining risk against roughly 41 USD to the 1.15040 target above the 1.15035 previous-week low, into a consensus that is dollar-supportive if delivered (Core PPI 0.3% vs 0.2%, headline 0.2% vs -0.3%), with a stop that binds continuously. Stop unchanged — tightening inside 1.1538 puts it under one ATR inside the 1h average cluster and donates the trade to overnight noise; widening at -0.35R is unjustifiable. Binding next slot: hourly close above 1.15370 and I flatten regardless of stop; likewise 10Y under 4.640, or USDJPY negative on the day with cable back above 1.35300.
HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.152385 short, live 1.1526, -6.94 USD, -0.18R, two hours old. No invalidation fired. The binding one — flatten on an hourly close above 1.15370 (1d SMA200) — did not trigger: the 19:00Z hour closed 1.152605, 11 pips below it and still under the 1h SMA20 1.153982 and 1h SMA50 1.154263. Stop 1.15420 untouched; the 19:00Z high was 1.152871. Time stop (14:00Z tomorrow, post-PPI) not due. Driver-reversal lines were 10Y under 4.640, USDJPY negative on the day, cable reclaiming 1.35300: none met — 10Y 4.682, +0.47% on the session and above its 1h SMA50 4.660; USDJPY +0.14% at 159.493, above every reference; cable 1.3492, still under 1.35300 after failing there. The three corroborating dollar channels are intact, which is what I underwrote; this was never a euro-only view. The hour went marginally against me: the 19:00Z bar ranged 1.152339/1.152871 and closed 2.7 pips above the prior close, the first higher close since the break, and unrealized drifted -4.84 to -6.94. That is a bounce off the low, not a reclaim — price has recovered none of the four averages it lost, and 1h RSI lifting 33.89 to 36.96 is the extended leg unwinding, which I said at entry was the base case. What keeps me short is two hours of consolidation sitting below the reclaimed levels rather than above them, into a catalyst that is dollar-supportive if delivered: Core PPI 0.3% forecast vs 0.2% prior, headline 0.2% vs -0.3%. Arithmetic favours patience — 13.4 pips to the stop is 38.12 USD, 0.038% of capital, against roughly 41 USD to the 1.15040 target above the 1.15035 previous-week low. Stop unchanged: tightening inside 1.1538 puts it under two ATRs and inside the 1h average cluster, donating the trade to overnight noise before the event I am positioned for; widening is unjustifiable at -0.18R. Binding next slot: hourly close above 1.15370 and I flatten; or 10Y under 4.640, or USDJPY negative on the day with cable above 1.35300, and I exit regardless of price.
HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.152385 short, live 1.1525, -4.84 USD, -0.13R, one hour old. Every named invalidation checked, none fired. The binding one — flatten on an hourly close back above 1.15370 (1d SMA200) — did not trigger: the 17:00Z hour closed 1.152472 and 18:00Z closed 1.152339, both ~14 pips below that line and under the 1h SMA20 1.15408 and 1h SMA50 1.15430. Hard stop 1.15420 untouched; the 18:00Z high was 1.153004. Time stop (14:00Z tomorrow, post-PPI) not due. Driver-reversal thresholds were 10Y under 4.640, USDJPY negative on the day, cable reclaiming 1.35300: none met — 10Y 4.686 and +0.56% on the session, USDJPY +0.14% at 159.486 and above every reference, cable 1.3489, sixteen pips under 1.35300 and still below its 1h SMA20 after failing at 1.35406. The dollar leg is intact across all three corroborating channels, which is what matters, since this was never a euro-only view. Plainly, the hour produced nothing. The 18:00Z bar ranged 1.152339/1.153004, 6.6 pips against an 8.6-pip 1h ATR, closing on its low but only 1.5 pips below the prior close. That is consolidation on the break, not follow-through, and I will not dress it up as confirmation. What keeps me short is that the consolidation sits below the reclaimed levels rather than above them, and 1h RSI 33.89 has not bounced despite an hour of sideways trade. Arithmetic favours patience: 17 pips to the stop is 38.12 USD, 0.038% of capital, against roughly 41 USD to the 1.15040 target just above the 1.15035 previous-week low. No change to the stop: tightening inside 1.1538 puts it under one ATR and inside the 1h average cluster, donating the trade to overnight noise before the event I am positioned for; widening is unwarranted at -0.13R on a one-hour-old position. Binding next slot: hourly close above 1.15370 and I flatten; or 10Y under 4.640, or USDJPY negative on the day with cable back above 1.35300, and I exit regardless of price.
OPENEURUSD
Portfolio is flat, so this is a fresh underwrite with nothing to defend. Four instruments pass the gate — NDQ, SPX, EURUSD, GBPUSD — and I take one. Not the US indices, despite them being the strongest tape: cash closes at 20:02Z, leaving me one usable exit slot, after which the stop stops binding through the 12:30Z PPI print; that unstopped overnight window is the specific mistake already paid for on DAX. Not GBPUSD, because it stacks 06:00Z UK GDP on top of PPI and I am not paid for the extra coin flip. EURUSD gives the same short-dollar expression with a continuously live stop, one event instead of two, and the cleanest technical trigger on the board — a genuine break of a two-sided daily SMA compression rather than a momentum chase. Size is set by the 25% notional cap and kept below it at 21,000 units, risking 35.7 USD, because I am entering with 1h RSI at 34.67 into an already-extended leg and because I was long this pair earlier today for a small loss; that argues for a small, tightly-defined bet, not for abstaining given the structure and catalyst now line up the other way.

Entry 1.155616 long, live 1.1545, -25.85 USD, -0.53R, roughly one hour old. My binding invalidation was explicit and it fired: 'any hourly close back below 1.154914 (1d SMA50) — I flatten there rather than wait for the stop.' The 14:00Z hour is complete and closed 1.154468, below that line, below the 1h SMA20 1.154388 it had reclaimed, and below the 1h SMA50 1.154476. I close on the trigger I wrote rather than restate it, which is the exact failure mode that cost me four extra slots on GBPUSD and five on the EURUSD short. The breakout has been fully retraced. I bought the 12:00Z expansion bar (1.153669/1.156337, 26.7 pips on a 7.7-pip ATR) on the premise that the 13:00Z hold above every reference confirmed it; the very next bar gave the whole thing back, printing 1.155668 down to 1.154201 and closing near its low. Price is back inside the overnight coil it had escaped, so the structural reason for the trade no longer exists. Corroboration has also split rather than held. Gold is still firm at 4482 and WTI soft at 82.97, so my named driver-reversal thresholds (10Y above 4.700, gold under 4411, WTI above 84.00) did not trip — but the two FX legs that mattered both failed: cable poked 1.354059 and is back at 1.3509, under its 1.353000 previous-week high, and USDJPY has turned back up +0.115% on the hour. A dollar-down move that no longer shows in the dollar pairs is not the move I underwrote. Holding to the 1.15330 stop risks another 48 USD to defend a premise whose evidence has evaporated, with only 1.46x ATR of room left and 35 pips to a 1.15820 target the pair just failed to approach. Flat is also the right posture into tomorrow's 06:00Z UK GDP and 12:30Z US PPI, ahead of the time stop I had already set. Small, honest loss on a broken setup.

Portfolio is flat, so this is a fresh underwrite with no legacy to defend. Four instruments pass the gate — CAC, DAX, EURUSD, GBPUSD — and I take one. EURUSD over GBPUSD: both are the same short-dollar expression, but cable printed 1.354059 in the 13:00Z hour, poked through its 1.353000 previous-week high and closed back below it at 1.352631, a failed breakout at almost exactly the 1.352735 level where I bought a GBPUSD break on 10 Aug and lost 35.47 USD on zero follow-through. EURUSD by contrast closed its hour above every reference it cleared, and UK GDP at 06:00Z tomorrow is idiosyncratic sterling risk I am not paid to hold. EURUSD over the indices: European cash closes in about 90 minutes and an index stop does not bind through the overnight gap, which is the specific mistake that has already cost me on DAX; FX runs continuously to Friday 21:02Z so this stop is live the whole time. Sizing is set by the 25% notional cap (21,000 units, 24,266 USD), leaving 46.20 USD at risk — deliberately small because I am entering at the top of an extended hourly bar and because I was positioned the opposite way in this pair yesterday. No second leg: adding GBPUSD would be the same factor twice, not diversification.
CLOSEEURUSD
Entry 1.153385 short, live 1.1546, -27.95 USD, -0.71R, five hours old. My binding commitment was to flatten on an hourly close above 1.15503; the 12:00Z hour closed 1.154601, so that trigger did not fire, and neither did the 16:00Z time stop, the WTI-under-80 line or the 10Y-under-4.65 line. I close anyway, on the evidence rather than the trigger. What changed this hour is the thing I said for four straight slots had not happened: price reclaimed one of the three averages it lost at entry. The 12:00Z bar closed 1.154601, above the 1h SMA20 1.154421, on the session high and on its own high, the fifth consecutive higher hourly close (1.153536, then 1.153935 three times, 1.154068, 1.154601). The lower-highs structure from 1.15527 that I underwrote is gone: the last three hourly highs are 1.154201, 1.154601, 1.154601. 1h RSI has unwound 33.1 to 50.59, so the extended leg I sold is fully retraced and there is no oversold cushion left. Second, the driver has round-tripped. This was an oil-and-rates dollar trade, not a euro view. WTI is 82.45 against 83.88 at entry and 84.61 at the 09:00Z high, giving back the entire spike I sold into; the 10Y is 4.697, unchanged on the hour. The premise that pushed EURUSD down is no longer pushing. Third, the geometry has inverted: 6.5 pips to the stop, 1.05x the 1h ATR of 0.00062, against 41 pips to the 1.15050 target. One ordinary hourly bar takes me out. Holding to the stop only costs about 11 USD more, but that is precisely the sunk-cost framing I used to justify GBPUSD yesterday for four slots before closing it at a loss anyway. The question is whether short EURUSD has edge from 1.1546, and it does not. Flat is also the right place to be into tomorrow's 12:30Z CPI, which sits inside my old 12 Aug time stop with a stop this tight.
HOLDEURUSD
Entry 1.153385 short, live 1.1541, -17.45 USD, -0.45R, four hours old. Binding commitment was to flatten on any hourly close above 1.15503 (1d SMA50). The 11:00Z hour closed 1.154068 with a 1.154601 high, so it did not fire and I do not close. Five invalidations checked, none fired. (1) No hourly close above 1.15525. (2) No daily close above 1.15503; price still under all three averages lost at entry - 1h SMA20 1.154448, 1h SMA50 1.155120, 1d SMA50 1.155026. (3) Driver degrading but above my named thresholds: WTI 82.23 versus 83.88 at entry, -1.51% in the last hour and 2.4 handles off the 84.61 high, but my line was 80; 10Y 4.699 versus my 4.65 line. (4) Still dollar-side with EUR weak: EUR -0.13% 24h, GBP -0.05%, USDJPY +0.27%; the voiding pattern (USDJPY negative and cable through 1.3530 while EUR merely flat) is absent, cable 1.3495 under its 1h SMA20. (5) Time stop 2026-08-12 European close, not due. Plainly, the case is thinner than at entry: four hours of closes 1.153935, 1.153935, 1.153935, 1.154068 - a flat line, not follow-through - and the 11:00Z high 1.15460 tops the prior two hourly highs (1.15420, 1.15407), so the lower-highs structure has broken at the margin. The one thing still working for me: oil, the primary driver, unwound most of its spike and EURUSD rallied barely a pip on it. That non-response keeps me short, not a view that the dollar bid is intact. Arithmetic, not conviction: 11.5 pips to stop is 39.17 USD, 0.039% of capital, against ~63 USD to the 1.15050 target. Stop stays 1.15525, 1.91x the 1h ATR and above the 1.15527 overnight high by design; tightening inside 1.1547 donates the trade to US-open noise. Binding: hourly close above 1.15503 and I flatten; if 1.15268 is not tested by the 16:00Z slot, after the 13:32Z US open, I flatten the stalled break; if WTI trades under 80 or the 10Y under 4.65, I flatten regardless.
