OPENGBPUSD

Opening from flat; no positions were carried into this slot, so this is a fresh underwrite rather than an adjustment. Four instruments satisfy tradable_in_simulation, quality.status=fresh and session.is_open: SPX, NDX, EURUSD and GBPUSD. CAC and DAX are shut. I am taking GBPUSD and declining the other three. EURUSD is declined on its own merits — 1.1555 is flat against a 1h SMA20 of 1.15582 with 1h RSI 51.6 and a 24h change of -0.05%, which is no signal at all. SPX and NDX are declined on the clock, not the chart: both are in intact uptrends, but US cash closes at 20:02Z and the macro window opens at 19:00Z with 49 events through 14 Aug, so any index line taken now is stopped for four hours and unstopped for seventeen. That is the precise asymmetry that cost me -0.18R on SPX into the 07 Aug weekend and -0.13R on DAX before today's European close, and repeating it a third time on a tape where NDX is already diverging negative from SPX would be a decision I could not defend. GBPUSD carries the same risk-on directional lean but in a market that stays open until Friday, so the 1.3495 stop binds continuously instead of decoratively. Size is set at the 25% notional cap (24,347 USD) rather than at my risk budget, which leaves only 55.80 USD, 0.056% of capital, at risk — intentionally small, because I am buying two hours after a 30-pip vertical push with 1h RSI at 73.4 and the honest base case is a retest of 1.3505 before any extension. Single position, no correlated second leg.

CLOSE^DAX

Executing the commitment made on the record at 13:05Z: "if 26445 is not reclaimed by the 15:00Z slot, I flatten before the 15:32Z close rather than carry unstopped gap risk on a premise that has stopped producing." This is the 15:00Z slot. 26445 was not reclaimed — the two hours since printed highs of 26384.37 and 26372.75, nowhere near it. No named invalidation fired: no hourly close below 26150 (13:00Z closed 26311.50, 14:00Z 26348.04), no daily close below 26126, VIX 15.18 not above 18, 10Y 4.686 not through 4.75. I am not closing on a trigger, I am closing because the reason to hold has gone. The premise was orderly consolidation under Friday's high with lows stepping up. That is now inverted: four consecutive lower hourly highs, the 13:00Z hour closing 26311.50 through the morning low 26314.98 on a 26302.19 print, spot 26339.21 pinned to the 1h SMA20 26333.13 and only 20 points above Friday's 26319.45 close, 1h RSI 55.1 from 60.34 at entry and 63.64 at the peak. Seven hours in, the trade is -24.22 USD, -0.13R, has round-tripped from +0.28R, and CAC never once confirmed — still below its own 1h SMA20 and negative on 24h. The decisive factor is the clock, not the tape. Cash closes at 15:32Z; the 26150 stop stops binding there and does not resume until 07:00Z tomorrow. That is 23,705 USD of notional held unstopped across a 49-event macro calendar that opens at 19:00Z, on a thesis that has stopped producing. A 1.5% adverse reopen costs ~0.36% of capital versus the 0.19% bounded risk I actually underwrote — the wrong side of that asymmetry to sit on for a premise I no longer believe. Paying ~30 USD of round-trip cost to retire it is a fair price. Flat into the US afternoon, re-underwriting next slot on fresh data.

HOLD^DAX

Entry 26363.486, live 26362.67, -3.11 USD, -0.02R, five hours old. Every named invalidation checked; none fired. (1) No hourly close below 26150 - the 12:00Z hour closed 26365.25 on a 26358.70 low, above 1h SMA20 26316.23, 1h SMA50 26217.60, 1d SMA50 25131.69 and 1d SMA200 24449.75. (2) No daily close below 26126, the 05 Aug close and base of the leg, still 237 points below spot. (3) VIX 15.42, not above 18, below its 50d 17.38 and 200d 18.58. (4) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 - 4.668, from a 236k-second-stale print that confirms nothing live. Stated plainly, not buried: the stall flagged last slot has become a slow roll. Three consecutive lower hourly highs (26441.91, 26416.13, 26406.65), the 12:00Z low 26358.70 breaking the 11:00Z low 26386.89, 1h RSI 57.8 from 63.64, and the position has round-tripped from +0.28R to flat after two rejections at Friday's 26445.18. CAC 8722.35 still refuses to confirm, under its 1h SMA20, and the macro mix has firmed the dollar (USDJPY +0.76%, 1h RSI 71.1; EURUSD -0.14%) with WTI +1.73%. That is the opposite backdrop to the one I opened into. What it is not, yet, is a break: price holds above every reference average and above Friday's 26319 close, and a 44-point fade against a 66.46 1h ATR is noise, not distribution. Closing at breakeven on a pause inside intact structure pays round-trip spread to retire a bounded 192.14 USD risk 437 points from target. Stop stays 26150 - 213 points, 3.2 ATR, below Friday's low 26223.64 and the 1h SMA50. Tightening to anywhere between the session low 26314.98 and Friday's low donates the trade to an ordinary sweep at the 13:32Z US open. Commitment for the record: if 26445 is not reclaimed by the 15:00Z slot, I flatten before the 15:32Z close rather than carry unstopped gap risk on a premise that has stopped producing.

HOLD^DAX

Entry 26363.486, live 26401.18, +31.55 USD, +0.16R, four hours old. Every named invalidation checked; none fired. (1) No hourly close below 26150 — the 11:00Z hour closed 26410.52 on a 26386.89 low, above 1h SMA20 26308.26, 1h SMA50 26209.83, 1d SMA50 25131.69, 1d SMA200 24449.75. (2) No daily close below 26126, the 05 Aug close and base of the leg, 275 points below spot. (3) VIX 15.45, not above 18, below its 50d 17.38 and 200d 18.58. (4) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 — 4.66, but that is a 232k-second-stale print confirming nothing live. What changed, stated not buried: the advance stopped advancing. The 11:00Z hour was the session's first inside/lower hour — 29-point range against a 1h ATR of 67.89, low 26386.89 breaking the ladder of rising lows (26314.98, 26328.84, 26379.09, 26389.60), 1h RSI 63.64 versus 64.83 — and price has now failed twice at Friday's 26445.18 high. The macro mix also turned less friendly: WTI +1.45% and USDJPY +0.69% with EURUSD -0.11% is a firmer dollar plus an oil impulse, the opposite of what I opened into. CAC 8722.37 still is not confirming, marginally under its 1h SMA20 8724.67, so this stays Germany alone — which keeps forbidding a CAC leg (same factor, weaker structure) but fires no trigger. A stall at resistance in a position onside, above every reference average, premise intact, is not worth round-trip cost to retire a bounded 192.14 USD risk 399 points from the 26800 target. Stop unchanged: 26150 is 251 points away, 3.70x the 1h ATR, below Friday's low 26223.64 and the 1h SMA50. Trailing under 26386.89 would sit 0.21 ATR from spot and donate the trade to a wick at the 13:32Z US open, where SPX/NDX arrive from 228k-second-stale prints. Gap risk accepted: the stop stops binding after 15:32Z, which is why this is 0.19% of capital, and the 13:00Z and 14:00Z slots remain to flatten if the stall becomes a rollover.

HOLD^DAX

Entry 26363.486, live 26423.23, +51.39 USD, +0.28R, three hours old. Every named invalidation checked; none fired. (1) No hourly close below 26150 — the 10:00Z hour closed 26423.70 on a 26389.60 low, above 1h SMA20 26298.41, 1h SMA50 26194.42, 1d SMA50 25131.69, 1d SMA200 24449.75. (2) No daily close below 26126, the 05 Aug close and base of the leg, now 297 points below spot. (3) VIX has not closed above 18 — 15.46, below its 50d 17.38 and 200d 18.58 and below last week's 18.43 high. (4) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 — 4.66, -1bp, though that is a stale closed-market print and confirms nothing live. This hour added continuation, not just survival: morning lows stepped up a fourth time (26314.98 → 26328.84 → 26379.09 → 26389.60), the 10:00Z hour printed 26441.91 against Friday's 26445.18 high, and price holds above Friday's 26319 close with 1h RSI 64.83 versus 63.95 last slot and 60.34 at entry — firming, not stretched. The degradation named in my last two reviews stands and I am not burying it: CAC 8717.93 is still under its 1h SMA20 8724.82 and negative on 24h, so this advance is Germany alone. That keeps forbidding a CAC leg — same EUR/equity factor on the weaker structure — but fires none of my triggers and does not close a position onside with its premise intact. Not touching the stop. 26150 is 273 points away, 3.85x the 1h ATR of 70.86, below both Friday's low 26223.64 and the 1h SMA50. Trailing it under this morning's 26389.60 low would sit inside half an ATR of spot and donate the trade to an ordinary wick on the 13:32Z US open, where SPX and NDX arrive from 225k-second-stale prints. Not paying round-trip spread and slippage to retire a bounded 192.14 USD risk that is in profit and 377 points from the 26800 target. Gap risk accepted and unchanged: the stop does not bind after the 15:32Z European close, which is why this is sized to 0.19% of capital, not to the notional cap.

HOLD^DAX

Entry 26363.486, live 26410.60, +40.03 USD, +0.21R, two hours old. Every named invalidation checked; none fired. (1) No hourly close below 26150 — the 09:00Z hour closed 26412.08 on a 26379.09 low, above 1h SMA20 26287.33, 1h SMA50 26180.11, 1d SMA50 25131.69 and 1d SMA200 24449.75. (2) No daily close below 26126, the 05 Aug close and base of the leg, 285 points below spot. (3) VIX has not closed above 18 — 15.43, below its 50d 17.38 and 200d 18.58 and below last week's 18.43 high. (4) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 — 4.66, -1bp, though that is a stale closed-market print and confirms nothing live. What the last hour added: the consolidation resolved upward rather than breaking. Morning lows stepped up 26314.98 → 26328.84 → 26379.09, the 09:00Z range was 37 points against a 1h ATR of 72.29, and price has cleared Friday's 26319 close and is pressing the 26445 high. 1h RSI 63.95 versus 60.78 last slot and 60.34 at entry — firming, not stretched. The degradation I named last slot stands and I am not burying it: CAC is on its previous-day low 8697.19 and below its 1h SMA20, so this advance is Germany alone. That keeps forbidding a CAC leg — same EUR/equity factor on the weaker structure — but it fires none of my triggers and does not close a position onside with its premise intact. Not touching the stop. 26150 is 260 points away, 3.61x the 1h ATR, below both Friday's low 26223.64 and the 1h SMA50. Trailing it under this morning's 26314.98 low would put it ~1.3 ATR from spot and donate the trade to an ordinary wick on the 13:32Z US open, where SPX and NDX arrive from 221k-second-stale prints. Not paying round-trip spread and slippage to retire a bounded 192.14 USD risk that is in profit. Gap risk accepted and unchanged: the stop does not bind after the 15:32Z close, which is why this is sized to 0.19% of capital, not to the notional cap.

HOLD^DAX

Entry 26363.486, live 26373.86, +6.96 USD, +0.04R, one hour old. Each named invalidation checked; none fired. (1) No hourly close below 26150 — the 08:00Z hour closed 26367.44 on a 26328.84 low, price above 1h SMA20 26271, 1h SMA50 26163, 1d SMA50 25132, 1d SMA200 24450. (2) No daily close below 26126, the 05 Aug close and base of the current leg, 248 points below spot. (3) VIX has not closed above 18 — 15.47, below its 50d 17.38 and 200d 18.58 and below last week's 18.43 high; the +0.45% tick is noise at these levels. (4) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 — 4.66, -1bp on 24h, though that is a stale market-closed print and confirms nothing live. What the last hour added: the consolidation tightened rather than broke. The 07:00Z hour ranged 68 points, the 08:00Z hour 46, both against a 1h ATR of 73.65, both holding under Friday's 26445 high without giving back Friday's 26319 close. That is the orderly pause I underwrote, one hour further along; 1h RSI 60.78 versus 60.34 at entry, still with room. Honest degradation, named rather than buried: CAC has weakened further (-0.15% session, -0.31% on 24h, now sitting on its previous-day low 8697.19), so the EUR-equity bid is narrow and carried by Germany alone. That forbids adding CAC as a second leg — it would stack the same factor on the weaker structure — but it fires none of my triggers and does not close a position that is onside with its premise intact. Not touching the stop: 26150 is 224 points away, 3.04x the 1h ATR, below both Friday's low 26223.64 and the 1h SMA50; tightening inside this morning's range would donate the trade to an ordinary wick on the 13:32Z US open. Not paying round-trip spread and slippage to retire a bounded 192.14 USD risk that is in profit. Gap risk accepted and unchanged: the stop does not bind after the 15:32Z close, which is why this is sized to 0.19% of capital rather than to the notional cap.

OPEN^DAX

Opening from flat — no positions were carried into this slot. Of the four instruments satisfying tradable_in_simulation, quality.status=fresh and session.is_open (CAC, DAX, EURUSD, GBPUSD), DAX is the only one where trend, structure and volatility point the same way. Declining EURUSD and GBPUSD because the dollar signal is internally contradictory this morning — USDJPY +0.47% says dollar strength, gold +0.37% on a +6.78% week says debasement, GBPUSD +0.03% says nothing — and I will not take an FX position on a factor whose own components disagree. Declining CAC as a second leg: it qualifies mechanically but is the weaker structure (below its 1h SMA20, negative on 24h) and would only stack the same EUR/equity factor. Risk deliberately held at 0.19% of capital rather than pushed toward the 1% limit, because the entry is trend continuation at 1d RSI 70.93 with a flat morning session, not a fresh impulse, and because the position must survive both the 13:32Z US open and the 15:32Z European close where the stop stops binding.

CLOSE^SPX

Last actionable snapshot before a 60-hour weekend: SPX cash closes 20:02Z and the next slot lands after it, so the real choice is flatten now or carry unstopped into Monday. None of my three named triggers fired — no daily close below 7710 (price 7742.28), VIX 14.88 not above 18, 10Y 4.658 not through 4.75 — but the specific premise I underwrote has decayed. I bought a breakout whose 13:30Z hour closed 7754.54 near its high, above the previous-day high 7742.85. Five hours on, price has rejected 7763.08 and printed lower hourly closes (7760.00, 7740.67, 7745.29, 7738.55) and now sits 7742.28, back at that same previous-day high, folded into the top of the 7736.52/7723.55/7709.96 base. The breakout never extended; the position is -36.16 USD, -0.18R, and has gone the wrong way every hour since entry. Meanwhile the evidence I flagged at entry as strongest against me is now the most extreme reading on the board and has intensified again: gold +2.31% on the session to 4397.5 while EURUSD +0.38%, GBPUSD +0.38%, USDJPY -0.57%. Parabolic gold on broad dollar softness is debasement flow, not clean risk appetite, and it says the equity bid I am long of is lower quality than the index prints suggest. The decisive factor is the gap. The 7690 stop does not bind across a weekend: a stop-through costs 0.20% of capital, a 2% adverse Monday open on 24,775 notional costs ~0.5%, and the macro feed carries a scheduled event on 08 Aug 16:45, inside the closure, with no ability to react. I sized this to the notional cap rather than to the stop precisely because I knew the stop was decorative across a gap, and I accepted that while the trade was working intraday. It is not working. Paying ~2.5 USD of round-trip spread and slippage to retire unbounded weekend risk on a thesis that failed to confirm is a fair price. Taking the small loss, standing flat, re-underwriting Monday on fresh data.

HOLD^SPX

Entry 7752.805, live 7745.09, -27.17 USD, -0.14R, three hours old. Each named invalidation checked individually; none fired. (1) No daily close below 7710 — price 7745.09, the 16:30Z hour opened 7740.73 and closed 7745.29, the session low is 7719.19, and price remains above the previous-day high 7742.85 as well as the 1h SMA20 7733.71, 1h SMA50 7601.14, 1d SMA50 7484.33 and 1d SMA200 7051.69. The breakout from the 7736.52/7723.55/7709.96 base has not been given back. (2) VIX has not closed above 18 — 14.93, -2.42% session, -11.35% week, below its 50d 17.40 and 200d 18.60. (3) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 — 4.649, -1.4bp on 24h, below its 1h SMA50 4.6637. What has degraded, stated plainly: the trade has gone sideways-to-lower since 14:30Z (7760 close, then 7740.67, then 7745.29), 1h RSI has cooled 68.3 to 63.62, and the gold/dollar signal I flagged at entry as the strongest evidence against me is now the most extreme reading on the board — gold +2.28% session to 4396.4 while EURUSD +0.36% and USDJPY -0.61%. That is debasement flow, and it says this equity bid may be lower quality than the price action suggests. It fires none of my three triggers, so it does not close the position; it does forbid adding and rules out any second correlated leg into the close. Not tightening the stop into the weekend: 7690 is 55 points away, 2.27x the 1h ATR of 24.30, below both today's low 7719.19 and the previous-day low 7698.15. Pulling it inside an intraday low in a tape that is merely consolidating would donate the trade to an ordinary Monday wick. Not paying round-trip spread and slippage to retire a bounded 200.98 USD risk that is 0.14R offside with its premise intact. Gap risk accepted and named: the stop does not bind across a weekend — a stop-through costs ~0.20% of capital, a 2% adverse Monday gap on 24,784 notional ~0.5%. That asymmetry is why this was sized to the notional cap rather than to the stop, and this snapshot does not change the trade I underwrote at 15:05Z.

HOLD^SPX

Entry 7752.805, live 7743.75, -31.45 USD, -0.16R, two hours old. Each named invalidation checked individually; none fired. (1) No daily close below 7710 — price 7743.75, session low 7719.19, still above 1h SMA20 7733.83, 1h SMA50 7593.46, 1d SMA50 7484.33 and 1d SMA200 7051.69; the break above the previous-day high 7742.85 and out of the 7736.52/7723.55/7709.96 base has not been given back. (2) VIX has not closed above 18 — 14.95, -2.29% session, -11.35% week, under its 50d 17.40 and 200d 18.60. (3) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 — 4.652, -2.2bp on 24h, below its 1h SMA50 4.6637. What has degraded, named rather than buried: the 15:30Z hour opened 7760, printed 7763.08 and closed 7740.67 near its low, giving back the 14:30Z advance; 1h RSI cooled from 68.3 at entry to 62.75; NDX did the same (high 29738.74, close 29597.56). And the gold/dollar signal I flagged at entry as the strongest evidence against me has intensified — gold +2.20% on 24h to 4397.5 while EURUSD +0.34%, GBPUSD +0.30%, USDJPY -0.67%. That reads as debasement flow and argues this equity bid is lower quality than it looks. It fires none of my three triggers, so it does not close the position; it does forbid adding and rules out a second correlated leg today. Not tightening the stop into the weekend: 7690 is 53.75 points away, 2.17x the 1h ATR of 24.82, below both today's low 7719.19 and the previous-day low 7698.15. Pulling it under an intraday low in a tape that is merely pausing would donate the trade to an ordinary Monday wick. Not paying round-trip spread and slippage to retire a bounded 200.98 USD risk that is 0.16R offside with its premise intact. Risk accepted and stated plainly: the stop does not bind across a gap — a stop-through costs ~0.20% of capital, a 2% adverse Monday gap on 24,780 notional ~0.5%. That is the trade I underwrote at 15:05Z and this snapshot does not change it.

HOLD^SPX

Entry 7752.805, live 7755.03, +4.64 USD, +0.02R, one hour old. Each named invalidation checked individually; none fired. (1) No daily close back below 7710 — the 13:30Z hour closed 7754.54 and the 14:30Z hour closed 7760.00 on a 7762.45 high, the session low 7719.19 held above it, and price is above the 1h SMA20 (7733.63), 1h SMA50 (7585.99), 1d SMA50 (7484.33) and 1d SMA200 (7051.69). The break above the previous-day high 7742.85 and out of the 7736.52/7723.55/7709.96 base is intact. (2) VIX has not closed above 18 — it is 14.94, -2.35% session, -11.35% week, so the volatility collapse underwriting this extended rather than paused. (3) The 10Y has not taken out 4.75 — 4.649, -0.3bp on 24h, below last week's 4.747 high. Cross-market confirmation is unchanged: NDX +0.35%, DAX +0.32%, CAC +0.03%. What has moved against me, named rather than buried: gold is +2.56% to 4408.5 in one session, far more violent than the +1.80% flagged at entry, and it is doing that while the dollar sells off broadly (EURUSD +0.34%, GBPUSD +0.37%, USDJPY -0.58%). That reads as debasement/liquidity flow, a real argument that this equity strength is lower quality than the price action suggests. It is deliberately outside my invalidation list and fires none of them. It is enough to forbid adding and to rule out a second correlated long today; it is not enough to pay round-trip spread and slippage to retire a bounded 200.98 USD risk that is in profit with its premise intact. Not tightening the stop into the weekend either: 7690 sits below both today's low and the previous-day low at 2.63x the 1h ATR, and with 1h RSI 69.16 in a trending tape, raising it would hand the trade to an ordinary Monday-open wick. Risk accepted and unchanged: a gap through 7690 costs about 0.20% of capital, which is why this was sized to the notional cap, not to the stop.
